The Company Dance Academy
Competitive Performance Team
The Competitive Performance Team is a group of dancers selected by audition or placement to represent The Company Dance Academy in our local community and the dance industry. This is a group of talented and dedicated dancers that have a PASSION for DANCE.
It is our mission to cultivate a versatile dancer who is technically advanced and achieved in all genres of the art. Beyond the technical skills required of a performance team member, it is our goal to cultivate happy, confident, articulate and successful people who will excel in all areas of their life because of the training and support received by the owners and teachers here at The Company. The Competitive Performance Team members are well-rounded individuals whom will be competing in both regional and national dance competitions, as well as numerous community events and performances. The Performance Team will be held at higher expectations, and will be looked upon as role models to fellow students in and out of the studio.
The following guidelines are standard and can vary depending on each individual’s technical abilities and experience. Tryouts will also be mandatory for proper placement.
We offer two levels of participation for our team members. Two ballet technique classes per week are required for all team members regardless of their level.
*The Novice Level is for dancers who are new to the competition environment or who have other outside activities or commit-ments.
*The Competitive Level is for dancers who have at least 2-3 years of technical training.
In addition to level, we offer four different stages for team members based on their age:
*Prep Team (Novice Level Only) Ages 6 and under.
*Mini Team (Novice Level Only) Ages 7-9 years old.
*Junior Team (Novice or Competitive Level) Ages 10-13 years old.
We strongly believe it is the quality of each routine that is far more important than the quantity of routines that develop a strong and successful dancer and performer. We are committed to providing authentic choreography and age appropriate costumes for all ages and team levels. Nothing is more important to us than every dancer’s success regardless of age or level.

Company Crew Team Members
Being a part of the The Company Performance Team is exciting and rewarding. It is also a serious commitment made by students and families; both time-wise and financially.
Students are required to take a minimum number of classes per week, depending on their age and level, in order to be eligible for the The Company Performance Team. Attendance is vital for personal growth, group choreography and development as a team. Extra rehearsals are often required as competitions near. In order to keep the experience affordable, there are no additional fees for required extra rehearsals.
Students are responsible for (but not limited to): choreography fees, multiple costumes, shoes, make-up, competition fees and travel costs. The financial commitment can range from $2000 to over $5000 per competition season.
Our Parent Connection ran by parents is a non profit group that provides Fundraising ideas and opportunities to help subsidize the team's competition fees and travel costs. The funds allocated from the fundraisers are determined upon the dancer/parent participation in the fundraiser.
Students are placed at the teacher's discretion. Age is a guideline for placement. Talent, technical ability, stage presence, dedication, hard work and a positive attitude are all considered as well for The Company Performance Team.
TCDA's Company Performance team handbook will be available upon acceptance and registration. This will include team policies, a schedule of events, fees, costume prices, payment schedule, and a team contract.
